How to Set Up Your Design on BrandSKU

Sofia Ramirez Written by Sofia Ramirez

Setting up your brand on BrandSKU is a one-time process — once your brand assets are uploaded, they can be applied to any product across your entire catalog. This article walks through creating your brand kit, applying it to products, and saving templates you can reuse for future orders.

Step 1: Prepare Your Brand Assets

Before setting up your design, gather the following brand assets:

  • Logo files — a high-resolution version and a simplified single-color version for small applications
  • Brand color palette — the specific hex codes or Pantone codes you use across your brand
  • Fonts — the exact font files (OTF or TTF format) used in your brand identity
  • Product artwork — any illustrations, patterns, or graphics that will appear on the products themselves
  • Packaging designs — artwork for hang tags, inserts, tissue paper, or private labels (if using branding services)

For file format and resolution requirements, see What File Format and Resolution Should My Design Be and What File Format and Size Should My Logo Be.

Tip: Prepare your logo as a PNG with transparent background at the highest resolution possible. This one file will be reused across products, packaging, and labels, so it's worth getting right.

Step 2: Create Your Brand Folder

BrandSKU organizes brand assets in dedicated folders, so all files for a single brand stay grouped together. If you manage multiple brands or store lines, create a separate folder for each.

  1. Log in to your BrandSKU account and go to Dashboard → Branding.
  2. Click New Brand in the top right corner.
  3. Name your brand folder — use the exact brand name so it's easy to find later.
  4. Click Save.

Step 3: Upload Your Brand Assets

Open the brand folder you just created, and upload the files you prepared in Step 1.

  1. Click into your brand folder.
  2. Click Upload Assets and select your logo, color palette, fonts, and any other artwork.
  3. Wait for the upload to complete. Each asset will appear in the folder, tagged by type (logo, font, artwork, packaging).

Note: Uploaded files are stored in your account and can be reused across unlimited products. You only need to upload each file once.

Step 4: Apply Your Design to a Product

Now that your brand assets are uploaded, you can apply them to any product in the catalog.

  1. Browse the catalog and select the product you want to customize.
  2. In the product designer, click My Brand in the sidebar.
  3. Select the brand folder you want to pull assets from.
  4. Drag your logo, artwork, or other assets from the folder into the print area.
  5. Position and resize the design as needed.
  6. Repeat for additional print areas (front, back, sleeves, etc.) if the product supports them.

Step 5: Configure Branding Services (Optional)

If you want to add custom packaging, hang tags, inserts, tissue paper, or private labels to your order, configure these before saving the product.

  1. In the product designer, click Branding Services in the sidebar.
  2. Select the services you want to add (custom packaging, hang tags, etc.).
  3. Choose your brand folder to pull the packaging artwork from.
  4. Preview how each element will appear on the final product.

Branding services add extra production time and cost — see How Long Does Private Label Production Take for timeline details.

Step 6: Save as a Brand Template

Once your design is set up the way you want it, save it as a template so you can reuse the same setup on future orders.

  1. Click Save as Template at the top right of the product designer.
  2. Name the template (for example, "Summer 2026 T-shirt — Black Logo Front").
  3. The template is now stored in your brand folder and can be duplicated or applied to new products anytime.

Tip: Save separate templates for each color variant or print position combination. It takes an extra minute now but saves hours when you're setting up your next 50 products.

Managing Multiple Brands

If you manage more than one brand or store line, keep each brand's assets in its own folder. When applying designs, always confirm you've selected the correct brand folder before uploading files or saving templates — assets from different folders can't be easily merged later.
