How Long Does a Product Request Take

Sofia Ramirez Written by Sofia Ramirez

Product request turnaround depends on how common the product is, how complete your request information is, and whether any customization is involved. Here's what to expect.

Typical Response Times

Initial Response: 1–3 Business Days

After you submit a request, our sourcing team will review it and get back to you with an initial assessment—whether the product can be sourced, what the estimated cost is, and any additional information they need from you.

Sourcing Completion: 5–10 Business Days

For most standard products, sourcing is completed within 5 to 10 business days from your initial submission. This includes identifying suppliers, confirming pricing, and adding the product to your account.

Complex or Custom Requests: 2–4 Weeks

Requests involving large or non-standard items (furniture, lighting, custom-designed products) or those requiring private label and custom packaging take longer, since they involve supplier negotiation, sample production, or design confirmation.

What Affects Turnaround Time

How Specific Your Request Is

A request with a clear product URL, images, and defined variants is much faster to process than a vague description. Incomplete requests usually require follow-up questions, which add days to the timeline.

How Common the Product Is

Standard items that are widely available can be sourced within a few days. Rare, seasonal, or highly specialized products take longer, since suitable suppliers must be identified and evaluated.

Whether Branding Is Involved

Adding custom packaging, private label, or POD customization extends the timeline, since sample production and design approval are additional steps.

Supplier Response Time

Once we contact potential suppliers, their response speed affects our timeline. Chinese New Year, major holidays, and factory peak seasons can delay responses by 1–2 weeks.

How to Get Faster Results

Submit a complete request the first time. The single biggest factor in speed is whether the sourcing team has to come back to you with clarifying questions. A request with a working product URL, clear images, precise variant list, and stated branding needs typically moves through the pipeline 2–3x faster than a vague one.

If your request is time-sensitive (tied to a launch date, seasonal campaign, or ad schedule), mention this when you submit. The sourcing team can prioritize accordingly.
